Top Tips for your Hair on the Wedding Day

There is no other day for a woman like her wedding day. A bride simply want to look her loveliest on her wedding day. She wants her family and friends to see her in a gorgeous gown with a stunning hairstyle marrying the man she wants to spend forever with. The expectations and the correlating stress are so high. What can a bride do but feel frazzled and overwhelmed? Luckily, with the following tips, the hair will be one area that will run smoothly, without a lot of stress.

Top Tips for your Hair on the Wedding Day

  • Get your hair in the best condition possible. This should be an ongoing process anyway. If your hair is not poor condition, take six months to deep condition your hair. Deep conditioning can be done every two weeks. Ask your hairstylist for his/her recommendation for the best product for your specific hair. Also, try to limit harsh styling methods such as straight ironing. You want your hair to be at its best on the wedding day.
  • Plan in advance. This includes the entire wedding, hairstyle, make up and dress. Many brides will procrastinate and this only leads to more stress. The whole wedding process becomes an obstacle to overcome, instead of the joy that it should be. If you need help such as getting referrals to a hairstylists or possible hairstyles suggestions, ask the bridesmaids or the mothers. Delegation does not mean failure. It means you are smart enough to know that others love to assist during a wedding and you are being thoughtful.
  • If you color your hair, it should be touched up 2 weeks before the wedding. This is also a good time to get a trim before the wedding.
  • Once a hairstyle is decided upon, have it prepared by your hair stylist. Time it to see how long it takes to accomplish the look. If there are any issues, before the wedding is the time to address them. It is also important to use the products that you will be using on your wedding day. Take note if the products start to fail after a few hours or if you have an allergic reaction to a product. This is not something usually thought of, but can cause so many problems.
  • It is important to choose the hairstyle before choosing the veil or head piece. The hairstyle takes first priority; the veil or head piece is a complementary item.
  • Check with your hairdresser about shampooing your hair. The hair is more manageable and more likely to hold an elaborate wedding hairstyle if not washed the day of the wedding. Plan on washing your hair the night before.
  • If you are going to wear flowers in your hair, have a trial run with the hair stylist.
  • Remember to book your hair appointment early.
  • Prepare an emergency hair repair kit for the wedding day. Have plenty of pins in a shade similar to your hair, hairbrush, tail comb, hair spray and shine spray.

The most important tip on your wedding day is to enjoy the day. A beautiful bride is one who is not stressed out, but a smiling bride who has planned well.
