Wedding Hairstyles 2012

Long Wedding Hairstyles

The beauty of long hair is undeniable. Whether a woman has blonde, brunette, or red-haired, long hair cascading down her back is so gorgeous. Of course, the wedding day is a day when a woman wants to look her best. It is natural to take great care when picking a hairstyle for arguably the most important day of her life. Women with long hair have many options for their wedding day.

The disadvantage of long hairstyles is that they require more attention and maintenance. Long hair tends to become tangled and disorderly quite easily. Sometimes, long hair is easily thrown into a hap-hazard ponytail to get it out of the way.

The advantages of long hair are obvious. Whether it is worn down or up or curly or straight, there are so many different styles from which to choose. A woman with long hair can change her looks by altering her hairstyle to coordinate with an outfit or to fit the occasion. Some long hair wedding hairstyles include: volumized curls swept to one side, high bun with side swept bangs, retro updo with curls tucked under, loose waves, chignon, French twist, all-over curls, curls at the bottom of the hair, French braid and sleek long hair worn half-up.

The wedding gown will help to determine the best hairstyle. A gown that is strapless and form fitting would look best with the long hair worn down in cascading waves. On the other hand, if the wedding gown is elaborate and demure, an updo would lend simplicity and balance to the wedding outfit.

Long hair offers the most options for hairstyles anytime and especially for the bride-to-be; the bride-to-be’s hair color should be taken into consideration. An updo suits all hairstyles, but specific considerations must be taken. For example, a brunette should opt for an updo that is not too stiff. The reasoning is that it will look too severe. In contrast, a blonde will look stunning in a tight updo because the light color softens the stiffness of the style. Accessories are another element that is dependent on the hair color. Brunettes should steer away from any adornment that is bright white and large. This will detract from the bride’s face, which is definitely not the intended effect. If flowers are used, fresh flowers are always the best option. If fresh flowers are not an alternative, choose small fake flowers. Large fake flowers look cheap and shabby.

Some tips to take care of long hair before and after the wedding include conditioning. Long healthy needs deep conditioning treatment to maintain health. Choose a rich conditioner that is suited to your particular hair type and use it once a week prior to the wedding. A trim should be done weeks before the wedding, not the week of the wedding.

The most important part of the wedding is for the bride to feel and look beautiful. Stunning long hair, whether in an updo or trailing down the back, will be part of the bride’s happiness on her wedding day.
